This is my 4th Design Assignment of the week. In this assignment we had to design a collage that consisted of labeled pictures of places to visit near where we live. I chose this assignment because I like to travel and find new interesting places to visit. I knew there were many places to pick from in northern Virginia that I have either never visited or have been to a very long time. I thought it would be a good idea to make a collage of these places, so I will remember them for when I am sitting at home trying to think of things I can go do.
Two places I chose to add to my collage were the White House and the Capitol building because I have always want to go on a tour through them. I have been to D.C. and saw these buildings many times, but I have never got to see what they looked liked on the inside. Another place I used in my collage was the place where George Washington lived, Mount Vernon. I took a field trip here when I was in elementary school, but was more excited about not being in school the whole day rather than enjoying my visit and seeing all of the historical landmarks that are on the property. The fourth place that I added to my collage was the Manassas Battlefield. Even though I live right down the road from the cite of the first battle of the civil war, I have rarely visited it. I thought it would be a good addition to my collage because it is one of this country’s landmarks that I wish to visit before I grow up and possibly move away from.
